Mitchell/Morrill Youth Organization Ball Field REVITALIZATION PROJECT

Mitchell/Morrill Youth Organization

Ball Field Revitalization Project

This project is focused on updating the local ball fields in Mitchell to help support, develop, and grow the area youth that participate in the Baseball and Softball programs through Mitchell Organized Baseball (MOB).

About this Project:

The revitalization project will include updates to the fields, fencing, lighting, dugouts, and concession stand. This project will also bring in new features such as a playground for younger kids, an indoor batting cage, ADA accessibility, covered spectator seating, and landscaping. These improvements are necessary to bring the fields up to date to provide a safe and fun environment for the local youth to participate in. Providing updated ball fields will give our local youth the opportunity to play an organized sport, learn sportsmanship, and the importance of giving back.

The cost to complete this project is estimated at $1.2 million over a 2-3 year timeframe. The first phase is estimated at $520,000 and the second phase at $500,000. This project will be made possible through grants, private donations, city resources, and volunteers.

An improvement project like this, will not only benefit the youth, but will give back to the local community as well. Having updated fields will bring in revenue through more home games, tournaments, and having an indoor batting cage that travel teams would be able to utilize. The 18U girls Softball team were not able to have any home games because of the inadequacy of the softball field conditions and lighting.

The youth and future athletes would like to thank you for supporting this project.
